 Larry Sez:

Flechas de los Andes Gran Malbec is a co-production of Baron Benjamin de Rothschild and Laurent Dassault (of Bordeaux's Chateau Clark and Chateau Dassault, respectively) that sets brilliant new standards for what an Argentinian Malbec can achieve! This is a pitch-black monster with raspberries, mineral and roasted meats on the nose, explosive ripe black fruits on the palate, soft tannins and a finish that just goes on and on!

 Caitlynn Sez:

Domaine de Chaberton 'botrytis affected' Ortega! This is the yummiest BC desert wine I've ever run into -- fragrant and rich, it puts a lot of more expensive icewines to shame! A noble effort, indeed!

Don Sez:

Clos de la Roilette Fleurie 2006! For those of you who are always disappointed by the Nov. 19th Beaujolais Nouveau release, here's a jammy little number that'll remind you of what the fuss is supposed to be all about!

 Jami Sez:

La Sauvageonne "Les Ruffes"Coteaux du Languedoc! A dynamite mix of syrah, grenache, carignan and cinesault,  La Sauvageonne is a tremendous big-and-yummy bargain! Wine Spectator gives it 91 points (not that we put much stock in that sort of thing) and we'll give it to you for less than 25 bucks!

 Laura Sez:
 Ketel One Vodka! It's purrrrrrfect!

Dayna Sez: Las Rocas Garnacha --- a little bit fruity and a little bit awesome!

 Maria Sez:

Victoria Gin!

A hot little firecracker like me likes a little nip of ice-cold gin every now and then -- and this local offering Winchester distillers here in Victoria  really impressed me after I picked myself up off the floor! Brilliant straight up or on ice -- who needs a mix with something that tastes this good?

 Dan Sez:

Kettle Valley Old Main Red!

If every BC winery's House red was this good, there'd be no need for a Staff Picks page! It's a big, beefy and beautiful Bordeaux blend, and they made less than a thousand cases of it -- get it while you can!

Danielle Sez:

 Barefoot Zinfandel!

Followers of this particular space on the 'Staff Picks' page will remember my fondness for Barefoot Pinot Noir -- and it turns out that their Zin is every bit as fabulous!

Tyler Sez:

Lucky Force 8!

You got a problem with that?

 Jonathan Sez:

It is the time of year in which we all need a hug in a mug. For myself, I turn to Phillips Deadhead Barley wine! This smooth and gentle 10% beer keeps me in the Christmas cheer! And remember, no grapes have been harmed in the creation of this beer!
